Emerging Topics 2024

Messari's news aggregator tags and summarizes hundreds of news articles daily. However, users told us they wished it gave them a way to catch up on nascent subjects, like crypto ETFs or SEC investigations.

We took that feedback and built a system that surfaces emerging topics and visualizes the attention they've received.

I led the design from conception to implementation. This included creating a system for analysts to manually tag emerging topics, as well as an algorithm for suggesting topics based on keyword and entity recognition.

This is just a V1. We built this in response to user feedback, and we'll be continuing to iterate on it based on how analysts use it.
